About this career
Electricians are tradesman specializing in electrical wiring of buildings, machines, and equipment. Electricians are divided into two categories: linemen, who work with higher voltages, and wiremen, who work with the lower voltages. Wiremen generally choose one of five specialties: commercial, residential, light industrial, industrial, and low-voltage.
