About this career
Field service technicians operate on site in an on-call capacity. Duties include installing and repairing equipment, and training customers and employees on how to maintain machinery. Field service technicians perform trial runs of machinery to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications. They usually perform a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors.
